Cast Announced for Broadway’s HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD

Some familiar faces will be heading to Broadway in HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD!

Seven members of the original production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London’s West End will be reprising their roles when the show makes its way to Broadway this spring. Cast members Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), Noma Dumezwani (Hermione Granger), Paul Thornley (Ron Weasley), Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy), Sam Clemmett (Albus Potter), Poppy Miller (Ginny Potter), and Alex Price (Draco Malfoy) will reprise their roles on Broadway.

These seven actors make up the bulk of the lead cast of the show, though they will be joined by 28 new cast members, including Byron Jennings, Kathryn Meisle and David Abeles, who will fill ensemble roles and some lead roles as well. Cursed Child broke records in London this past year, winning nine Olivier awards, including awards for Parker, Dumezwani and Boyle.

The story of Cursed Child was written by author J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany, with the script being written by Thorne. The play picks up 20 years after the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and follows Harry’s son, Albus (Clemmett) as he tries to navigate life in a world where everyone knows his name. However things get more complicate when Albus and his best friend Scorpius (Boyle) discover a threat from the past that could destroy the Wizarding World as they know it.

The script of the play was also released in book form last year, and you can check out our review here.

The play opens on Broadway on April 22nd, 2018 at the Lyric Theatre, but tickets go on sale on October 12th on Ticketmaster Verified Fan following a registration from October 1-5.Cast Announced for Broadway's HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD
