THE MAGICIANS has upgraded actors Trevor Einhorn and Brittany Curran to series regulars, plus the creators talk about that Les Mis number.

Although season 2 for The Magicians just ended last month, we already can’t wait for season 3 and what’s in store for our favorite royal family! We don’t know what’s going to happen yet, except that two recurring actors are being promoted to series regulars for next season.

Yes, Trevor Einhorn, who plays Josh, one of the missing Brakebills University Class of 2016, and Brittany Curran, who plays Fen, Eliot’s Fillorian wife, have been bumped up to series regulars for season 3. Of course, this means, we’ll be getting to see a lot more of their characters in the storyline, which makes sense seeing as Fen’s baby is coming soon and Josh is more and more involved with the royal court in one way or another. So, we’re excited!

In other Magicians news, during Deadline’s annual The Contenders event, show creators Sera Gamble and John McNamara were asked about the musical number that was shown in episode 9 of this season, “Lesser Evils.”

It involved Eliot preparing for battle against the kingdom of Loria. Due to Eliot’s nervousness about the battle, Margo uses her magic to apply the Les Mis song “Do You Hear the People Sing?” to him and the rest of the Fillorians around them as a way to build up his courage.

Watch the video below to see how that came about, as well as what Stella Maeve and Jason Ralph thought about the series dark tones.
