New SUPERNATURAL Spin-off WAYWARD SISTERS Definitely Sounds Promising

WAYWARD SISTERS looks to be the Supernatural spin-off series that fans will actually want to watch and will be proud of.

This is not the first time a Supernatural spin-off has been attempted. A few years back, Bloodlines, about hunters and monsters in the Chicago area, attempted to be something that fans would cling to. But only the backdoor pilot aired, and the CW never picked it up, luckily. The main problem with the episode, and thus the would-be series was the fact that we were introduced to characters we had only just met and we were expected to find a connection to them.

With a long-running show like Supernatural as its predecessor, it really didn’t make much sense to do that, so the spin-off idea for that series was dropped. The spin-off idea, however, was not.

Despite the fanbase being strongly opposed to having many females, especially that of the romantic interest type, on the show, there have been a few that have become fan favorites. Kim Rhodes‘ Sheriff Jody Mills is one of them, which is the reason why the showrunners have decided, and rightly so, to base the spinoff Wayward Sisters off this character, as well as the girls that live under her roof.

From left to right: Kathryn Newton (Claire Novak), Kim Rhodes (Jody Mills), and Katherine Ramdeen (Alex Jones).

Rhodes made her first appearance on the show in season 5 in March of 2010, and has made twelve appearances since then as Sheriff Jody Mills. She’s the only one signed on for the spinoff, but we’re hoping for at least two more actresses to join her in reprising their roles – Kathryn Newton (Claire Novak) has appeared on the show five times since 2014, while Katherine Ramdeen (Alex Jones) has appeared three times.

It would make sense for them to be in Wayward Sisters as they were the original two that were fostered by Jody Mills, and both are familiar with the supernatural world that left them without a family.

No further details have been disclosed, but we do like where Wayward Sisters is going, and it sounds like the spinoff that deserves to be part of the Supernatural world.
