MAISIE WILLIAMS Confirmed to Not Return to Doctor Who

Recurring guest star MAISIE WILLIAMS to leave Doctor Who for future projects

Maisie Williams, who is best know for her role as Arya Stark in the HBO show Game of Thrones, will be departing from her guest star role on the long running show Doctor Who. She was a recurring guest star during Doctor Who‘s 9th series, playing the immortal Ashildr. Although her story was completed in the series finale, with her flying through time with Clara Oswald in their own TARDIS, fans speculated after her return to series 10 news of showrunner Steven Moffat’s departure.

Maisie Williams has dissipated the rumors, stating that she “has other exciting projects lined up instead.” Williams will be appearing in The Devil in the Deep Blue Sea, playing Millie. She is also in negotiations to appear in The Forest of Hands and Teeth. She’ll be reappearing in Game of Thrones Season 6, which starts April 24th.
