LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Features JSA, Hawkgirl Exits

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow finale shows us saying goodbye to Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and features the JSA.

(Warning: Spoilers regarding the season finale, “Legendary”) It looks like there’ll be some casting changes as Ciara Renée, who was first introduced in The Flash as barista Kendra Saunders, will be leaving DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, as the season finale episode had Kendra aka Hawkgirl and Carter Hall aka Hawkman splitting from the group to rekindle their life together.

Ciara’s exit will be the second one for a series regular (Wentworth Miller was announced to be off the series regular cast, but will be making appearances in the DC/CW universe between Legends and The Flash,) but we may yet see her again in future episodes of season 2.

Not only that, the season finale introduced a new character from another DC group into the fold – that of Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams) from the Justice Society of America, or the JSA.  Those familiar with the comics know that Rex Tyler is also known as the Hourman.

It’s not known yet how much a role he’ll have in season 2, but executive producer Marc Guggenheim did have this to say about the foe the Legends will be facing:

“The season two big bad is actually not going to be the [alien race of] Thanagarians. It’s going to be something else entirely. All I’ll really say about the nemesis in season two is Vandal Savage looks like a walk in the park compared to what the Legends will be facing. This will be a much, much bigger threat. I’m going to leave it at that because when we do reveal it, it’s going to be pretty big. People will be asking, ‘Vandal who?’ once they get the full picture of what our team is up against. It’s going to be way bigger than what you can even imagine, I can guarantee it.”

Sounds like it’s going to be another exciting season in the DC/CW-verse.
