Freeform Orders Marvel Comedy NEW WARRIORS To Series

Superhero comics will go for laughs with new Marvel-Freeform team-up NEW WARRIORS!

Freeform is planning to add some superhero flair to their comedy line-up!

Marvel announced that Freeform has ordered a 30-minute comedy series New Warriors straight to a 10-episode series. It will follow six teens who have superpowers during the early days of their abilities, where things aren’t so spectacular.

Here’s the official description:

“Marvel’s New Warriors” is about six young people with powers living and working together.  With powers and abilities on the opposite end of the spectrum of The Avengers, the New Warriors want to make a difference in the world… Even if the world isn’t ready.  Not quite super, not yet heroes, “Marvel’s New Warriors” is about that time in your life when you first enter adulthood and feel like you can do everything and nothing at once — except in this world, bad guys can be as terrifying as bad dates.

Only one character has been announced for the show so far: Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl will lead the pack with her peppy attitude, acrobatic fighting skills, and ability to communicate with squirrels. There’s definitely some potential for comedy there!

New Warriors is slated to debut sometime in 2018.
