“Family is the Ultimate Power” in this new THE GIFTED teaser trailer as the show chronicles the lives of a family with mutant issues.
The Gifted is Fox’s latest superhero series, and one of the few, if only, shows that get to actually use the term “mutant.” It stars True Blood‘s Stephen Moyer, whose real life wife, actress Anna Paquin, played Rogue in the original X-Men movies, plays Reed Strucker, the father of two teens who possess mutant abilities. Along for the journey is Kate Strucker, played by Person of Interest‘s Amy Acker, Reed’s wife and mother of the teens. Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White play the mutant teens Lauren and Andy.
When an incident happens at school, and the teens’ abilities reaveled, the family is forced to go on the run from the government that seeks to register and restrain all mutants out of fear and prejudice.
Joining them are a small underground group of mutants, which include Marco Diaz aka Eclipse (Sean Teale), Clarice Ferguson aka Blink (Jamie Chung), John Proudstar aka Thunderbird (Blair Redford), and Lorna Dane aka Polaris (Emma Dumont).
Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The pilot episode is written by show creator Matt Nix and is directed by X-Men director Bryan Singer.
The Gifted premieres on Monday, October 2nd at 9/8c on Fox.
