THOMAS (The Maze Runner)
Brief Summary (spoilers)
Being the Greenie in the Glade, Thomas surely has what it takes to fight Grievers, protect his friends and solve secret codes. He will do almost anything to help his friends, including going through the single most painful thing that can happen to a person who goes into the maze in order to get information that may help everyone escape. Thomas is one of the strongest fighters in the Glade as well as the more humble boys in the Glade.

Why We Like Him (spoilers)
Thomas is the Glader that shakes everything up. He’s the first to take creative initiatives to find a way out of the maze and figure out what WICKED is up to. While fiercely loyal to his friends, Thomas will stand up to anyone of them in order to do what he thinks is right. He’s the brains of the Maze Runner series and without him, no one would have made it out alive. Also, he has TELEPATHY. Isn’t that reason enough? – Kait (thefandom.net)
The thing that makes Thomas likeable is his blind determination. He knows what he wants and what he wants to accomplish and he will let nothing stand in his way. His decisions are based on the only thing he knows; he has to get out of the maze. GALLY (The Maze Runner)
Brief Summary (spoilers)
Gally is a Glader and Keeper of The Builders. He has previously undergone the changing and as a direct result, distrusts Thomas immensely. He has an arrogant and antagonistic personality. He consider himself a leader (he is a keeper after all) , but he is not well liked and doesn’t command the respect that a leader should, due to the way he treats others. He is described as always looking angry, he’s missing teeth and according to Thomas has very unpleasant breath. At The Gathering where Thomas’ fate is being determined after breaking the rules, Gally wants a strict punishment for him and accuses Thomas of being a spy for WICKED. This results in a fight between him and Minho after which Gally disappears.

Why We Like Him
Who doesn’t love a baddie? The Glade and Gally are NOT friends. It drives him mad and makes him do horrible things, yet he still fights back, joins the anti-WICKED Left Arm. Despite the fact that they all hate him, Gally tries his best to help the Gladers. He’s the good guy with a dark side… or the bad guy with a conscience.
