Bean vs. Thalia Grace

BEAN (Ender’s Game)

Brief Summary (spoilers)

Julian Delphiki, Jr., more commonly known as Bean, was one of the genius children that attended Battle School and helped defeat the Formics.

Bean was chosen from the streets of Rotterdam where he learned to survive since the age of four. He was one of the soldiers in the army that Ender first commanded, Dragon Army. Bean fits a similar path as Ender. Naturally outcast by his age and height, but purposely outcast in the army by Ender. Bean is put on the spot by Ender many times in practice which separated him as one of the smartest soldiers. But under Ender’s commanding and the growth of a loyal army none of that mattered and Bean became one of Ender’s close and only trustees and friend. Later in the book he would be promoted to commander of his own army and further graduated to join Ender in the last battles of the Formic wars.

Why We Like Him

Bean, I feel, is an alternate persona of Ender. Alike Ender he is intelligent and very talented but also separated from his comrades. As his character develops in the book he becomes such a great soldier and friend, especially to Ender. His respect and loyalty makes him a great personality that I enjoyed reading in Ender’s Game and Ender’s Shadow Saga. – ausomejen

THALIA GRACE (Percy Jackson)

Brief Summary (spoilers)

Thalia Grace is the embodiment of epic! From her heroic efforts to save Camp Half-Blood — which ended up getting her turned into a tree — to her fierce warrior skills which she has used to protect her friends time and time again Thalia Grace is a force to be reckoned with. She is a Daughter of Zeus, Head of the Olympians and God of lightning and, like her father, Thalia has a feisty temper, but don’t let that sway you away from her!

She is noble, honourable and dedicated towards helping her friends making sure she protects them at all costs. Her weapons of choice are amazing ; her Hunter’s bow and arrow and her shield, Aegis, both of these fantastic weapons have been used time and time again to protect others.

The two most epical moments for Thalia are, 1. At just 12 years old Thalia faced horrible hellhounds and the three frightening Furies alongside 14 year old Luke and teeny tiny 7 year old Annabeth. In the end Thalia ended up sacrificing herself to defeat the monsters and protect her two friends and the safety of the whole camp!! 2. When Thalia chooses to join the Hunters for two incredibly noble reasons, to help Lady Artemis – the Goddess who is leader of the Hunt, and to push Percy down the path as the one of Prophecy- which is undeniably his destiny. The most memorable of quotes from her is… “I am honoring a friend. I must join the Hunt, Percy.” This sums up her personality perfectly and this decision ensures the futures of the rest of the group.

In conclusion you could net get a better friend the Thalia , she is loyal , funny , kind ,strong and will always put the people she cares about first. So if you want to know the meaning of EPIC! Look no further… because Epic = THALIA GRACE.

Why We Like Her (spoilers)

What Thalia Grace lacks in, well, grace she makes up in style. This hardcore punk rocker daughter of Zeus is sure to be one of the most epic characters in the Percy Jackson world. Young Thalia had to deal with a lot. Between the death of her mother and the disappearance of her brother and well, being turned into a tree she’s had a rough hand dealt to her. But she didn’t give up and neither should you! Thalia’s a rough and tumble girl and that’s why she’s one of the most epic characters to ever play beach volleyball at Camp Half-Blood. – thefandompjadmins
