Pete Learns About Imaginary Friends In New PETE’S DRAGON Clip

PETE’S DRAGON clip features questions from Pete’s newest friend!

As every show or movie with a fantastical or paranormal element will tell you, you can’t just tell everyone that you know a secret mythical being like a dragon. It definitely raises suspicions. But in this new clip, it seems young Pete (Oakes Fegley) from Pete’s Dragon didn’t get the memo.

Upon being discovered in the forest in the Pacific Northwest, Pete quickly begins to tell folks about his best friend, Elliot– who just happens to be a dragon camouflaging himself among the trees. Disney previously released a clip of park ranger Grace and her father (Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford) sharing some concern over Pete’s claims, but a new prompts curiosity from young Natalie (Oona Laurence,) who comes to her own conclusions about Elliot.

Despite her reservations, it seems like Natalie will be an ally for Pete as she seems to share the same sense of childlike wonder.

Pete’s Dragon flies into theaters on August 12, 2016.

Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford), a woodcarver, delights local children with stories of a mysterious dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) believes these are just tall tales, until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a 10-year-old orphan who says he lives in the woods with a giant, friendly dragon. With help from a young girl named Natalie (Oona Laurence), Grace sets out to investigate if this fantastic claim can be true.
