THE BOURNE IDENTITY director Doug Limon to direct Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley in CHAOS WALKING adaptation.
Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley have signed on to star in the movie adaptation of Patrick Ness‘s YA post-apocalyptic book series, Chaos Walking.
Holland stars as a young man named Todd who lives in a dystopian society in which women where supposedly killed off by an unknown germ. The series adds an element of fantasy as well, as all living creatures are able to hear each other’s thoughts through imagery, speech, and sounds.
When Todd is forced to leave his home, he, along with his dog, is surprised to come across Ridley’s character, Viola Eade.
Now the film has a release date: Chaos Walking is set to arrive in theaters March 1, 2019. By then, we’ll have seen Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War, and Daisy Ridley as Rey in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
With the popularity of Daisy Ridley’s character in The Force Awakens and the current success of Spider-Man: Homecoming, we’re hoping for big things for this adaptation, considering that YA book adaptations have not guaranteed immediate success since The Hunger Games films. Both Holland and Ridley have shown how talented they are, and we’re looking forward to them continue their success with their respective franchises, including Chaos Walking.
