The Cast of MOCKINGJAY — PART 2 Looks Back on Franchise

We’re about six weeks away from the highly anticipated release of THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY — PART 2 and, as the widely successful franchise comes to a close, emotions are running high. The cast spoke to EW about how they dealt with their emotional last day of filming.

“It was so emotional that I was completely numb and dead inside,” Jennifer Lawrence said.

When Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth wrapped their last Mockingjay scenes, the friends shared — and finished — a bottle of scotch.

“Then [the next day] we came to the set because Jen and Woody [Harrelson] had a last scene together and we wanted to watch the last couple takes,” Hutcherson said. “Then they called wrap, and we kind of sat there on the steps in this room and we just held each other…”

The film’s producer caught a picture of the four of them hugging after wrap was called. The cast celebrated with champagne in the East Berlin courthouse where they were filming. “And then a week later we were all together,” Lawrence added, “and we thought, ‘Was it weird that we got so dramatic?’”

Not nostalgic enough for you? In honor of Mockingjay — Part 2 getting closer, Lionsgate paired behind-the-scenes footage with some iconic moments from the first three movies to create a Hunger Games supercut. Check it out!
