Superhero Movie Update #1 – Avengers: Age of Ultron

Here’s the latest Avengers: Age of Ultron TV spot, and it finally lets us hear one of the Maximoff twins speak!

It also gives us some new scenes that show a little more of the levity we’re used to in an Marvel movie, and pretty much a re-introduction of the superhero crew, including a bit where Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) gets to show off his strong Euro accent.

Joss Whedon continues his interview with The Watcher where he talks about the cast and characters, including that of Paul Bettany as Vision, and then the reason for adding Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and watch it until the end, because he confirms something that’s probably going to get Marvel fans all in hype-mode:

Superhero Movie Update #2 – Deadpool

Morena Baccarin, who’s been gracing the small screen as Dr. Leslie Thompkins on Fox’s Gotham, has now been confirmed to play Vanessa Carlysle, aka Copycat, in the feature film Deadpool.
Superhero Movie Update - Morena Baccarin confirmed to play Copycat

We previously stated that Baccarin was cast as the female lead, but no word on the exact character that she would play was mentioned until today, when she tweeted out this image:

And of course, Ryan Reynolds had to join in on this tweeting thing:

Have to say that T.J. Miller started it all, since he tweeted out a hint about his character:

Here’s the description of Weasel, thanks to GeekTyrant:

Weasel is perhaps Deadpool’s best friend. However, because of his frequent mood swings and tenuous mental state, Deadpool still often abuses or mistreats him, although Weasel has also displayed an opportunistic streak against his friend on occasion.

Superhero Movie Update - T.J. Miller confirms role as Weasel in Deadpool T.J. then officially confirmed it earlier today:

Superhero Movie Update #3 – Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn released visual effects reels from Framestore, the visual effects company responsible for the creation of Rocket Raccoon and Knowhere:

Superhero Movie Update #4 – Suicide Squad

Superhero Movie Update - Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney on Captain Boomerang

Jai Courtney answers some questions about Suicide Squad

What’s up next?
I’m getting ready to go into “Suicide Squad.” I’m deep in prep for that, we’ve been training pretty hard for a couple of months. It’s an incredible cast and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone; everyone’s kind of been in their pocketed zones and we’re shipping out in a couple weeks to start rehearsals.

Captain Boomerang was a pretty sought-after role. How did you get the part?
I’d auditioned for David before for “Fury.” It’s funny, about two weeks before he called me I was saying to a friend of mine I’d never do a comic book movie. I was saying there’s too many of them … clearly talking s— for the sake of conversation. Then David rang and told me about this. He was the big draw for me, I really wanted to work with him. And I’m playing an Aussie, which is really refreshing and fun and the world is going to be pretty spectacular. So I jumped on board.
