We haven’t seen the last of Nick Fury as he’ll be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in CAPTAIN MARVEL.
According to Deadline, Samuel L. Jackson is indeed returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to reprise his role as former S.H.I.E.L.D. director and Avengers creator Nick Fury in the upcoming female-led Captain Marvel. The last time Fury was seen on the big screen was in a brief cameo in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
We don’t know how much we’ll see of him in Captain Marvel, but we don’t expect him to steal the spotlight from Brie Larsen (as Captain Marvel). Surely, though, he’ll have more than just a cameo, at least we hope.
As for the movie itself, it will be Marvel’s first female-led superhero movie. It will be a little behind the curve on female-led action as DCE has already claimed huge success and major female empowerment with Wonder Woman, a first in a long time for the DC Universe.
We can only hope just as big a success for Captain Marvel when it hits theaters March 8, 2019.
