Jude Law To Star Opposite Brie Larson In CAPTAIN MARVEL

Carol Danvers gets a major ally in Jude Law’s newly announced CAPTAIN MARVEL character!

Even though Brie Larson was announced as the star of Captain Marvel over a year ago, but the film is still filling out its original cast. Now, a major actor has signed on as an influential side character.

The film, which will be set in the 90s, follows an Air Force pilot named Carol Danvers who gains strange abilities after alien DNA fuses with her own in an accident. After the fact, she may be the only ones who can stop an incoming alien invasion, but she won’t be doing it without help.

According to Variety, Jude Law is in final negotiations to play Dr. Walter Nelson aka “Mar-Vell,” a mentor to Carol following her accident. Marvel has yet to confirm the news, but this comes as no surprise as Marvel often has made a habit of refusing to comment on movie news until a few months before release.

In the comics, Mar-Vell is the original “Captain Marvel,” a superhero who originates from the Kree alien race. It’s unknown whether the character will follow the same arc on film, as Marvel Studios isn’t afraid to change characters up a bit to meet their needs.

The film will also star Ben Mendelshon as the mysterious villain and feature Samuel L. Jackson‘s return as a younger-than-ever Nick Fury.

Captain Marvel is due in theaters on March 6, 2019.
