LOTR’s Hugo Weaving joins Peter Jackson’s MORTAL ENGINES

Lord of the Rings veteran actor Hugo Weaving will again be teaming up with director Peter Jackson for MORTAL ENGINES.

We had previously made the announcement that Peter Jackson, is in the process of adapting to film the book Mortal Engines. A few actors were named as joining the project, and another actor was announced today, someone who has worked with Jackson before. Hugo Weaving, who played King Elrond of Rivendell in The Lord of the Rings series and The Hobbit trilogy, will be joining the Mortal Engines cast.

No news yet on what role Weaving will be taking on, but we’re thinking it could be the character Valentine, however, we’re just speculating.

Many years after the “Sixty Minute War,” cities survive a now desolate Earth by moving around on giant wheels attacking and devouring smaller towns to replenish their resources.

Other actors involved in the film are Robert Sheehan, Hera Hilmar, Ronan Rafferty, and Stephen Lang.
