Greg Berlanti hopes to put his superhero magic touch into the movie adaptation of SIMON VS. THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA.
Greg Berlanti has been popular as of late for his involvement with pretty much all of the DC-based superhero TV shows. His position as creator for the CW’s Arrow, The Flash, and several other shows proves he definitely has talent. At least on TV shows, he does. But feature films is a different monster.
So, you may wonder why Greg Berlanti would be a good choice for a movie about a closeted high school student who’s being blackmailed by his peers. Well, if you recall, Greg Berlanti was also the producer and writer of a YA-type series called Dawson’s Creek. He even wrote the episode that had primetime television’s first gay kiss. So, yeah. He probably knows a thing or two about teen drama, and possibly even LGBTQ+ issues.
It’s a good thing that Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda author Becky Albertalli is quite thrilled with this news:
I’m a tiny bit super mega madly excited about this news. @GBerlanti is my dream director. https://t.co/Wv6hOptLwE

Greg will continue with work on the DC shows, including the upcoming Archie-comics inspired Riverdale, which will also be on the CW.
