Evan Peters to return for X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, Lamar Johnson joins cast

Evan Peters will be returning to reprise his role as Peter Maximoff, while Lamar Johnson is added to cast of X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX.

American Horror Story‘s’ Evan Peters has been announced to return to the mutant world as Peter Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. He first played Quicksilver 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and again in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, and was a fan favorite for the cinematic series. For that reason, his role was integrated into the storyline, though Quicksilver was not originally part of the Dark Phoenix saga in the comics.

Peters will be joining other actors that are also reprising their roles, including James McAvoy (Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), NIcholas Hoult (Beast), Sophie Turner (Jean Gray), and Tye Sheridan (Cyclops).

In addition to the returning cast, it was also announced that ‘The Next Step‘s’ Lamar Johnson will be joining the cast in an undisclosed role.

Johnson plays West onĀ ‘The Next Step,’ a BAFTA Award-winning Canadian drama/family/romance show that centers on a group of A-Troupe dancers as they prepare for dance competitions while dealing with personal relationships.

Screenwriter Simon Kinberg will also be making is directorial debut with X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which is scheduled to appear in theaters November 2, 2018.
