David Sakurai Joins FANTASTIC BEASTS Sequel

David Sakurai has been cast in the FANTASTIC BEASTS sequel!

David Sakurai, a Danish-Japanese actor, has been cast in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, which will be the second of five movies set in J.K. Rowling‘s pre-Harry Potter wizarding world.

David Yates is back directing the second film, which was penned by Rowling herself. Eddie Redmayne stars in the series as Newt Scamander, Johnny Depp takes on the character of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, and Jude Law will be joining the franchise as a young Albus Dumbledore in this film.

The film picks up a few months after the end of the first, Newt having helped in the discovery and arrest of Grindelwald. However, Grindelwald has now escaped and is gathering followers. The only one who has a chance at stoping him is Dumbledore, who used to be Grindelwald’s best friend. Dumbledore will join forces with his former student, Newt, to, hopefully, capture Grindelwald once and for all.

David Sakurai will be playing Krall, one of the Grindelwald’s ambitious henchmen. Sakurai was last seen in Netflix’s Iron Fist, and is currently filming Harold Cronk’s Unbroken: Path to Redemption. He can be seen next along side Antonio Banderas in Isaac Florentine’s Stoic.
