Beyoncé to Voice Nala in Disney’s Live-Action THE LION KING


Beyoncé Knowles is officially joining the cast of Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King. She will lend her voice to Simba’s friend and love interest, Nala. Moira Kelly voiced the character in the 1994 animated version.

Other cast members include Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Chwetel Ejiofor (Scar), John Oliver (Zazu), Seth Rogan (Pumbaa), Billy Eichner (Timon), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi), and John Kani (Rafiki).

Here’s what director Jon Favreau had to say on the cast of The Lion King:

“It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life.”

The Lion King hits theaters July 19, 2019.
