Bella Thorne to Produce YA Vampire Film DRINK, SLAY, LOVE For Lifetime

Bella Thorne will produce a movie adaptation of YA novel DRINK, SLAY, LOVE!

Bella Thorne seems to be rising through the ranks to become the new face of YA, starring in new Freeform series, Famous in Love, and in YA book adaptation, Break My Heart 1000 TimesNow she is adding producing to that resume, as she is set to co-executive produce an adaptation of novel Drink, Slay, Love for Lifetime.

Based on the book by Sarah Beth Durst, Drink, Slay, Love will be directed by Vanessa Parise, and star The FostersCierra Ramirez. Ramirez will play Pearl, who is your typical 16-year-old vampire. But after a mysterious attack that leaves her newly unaffected by the sun, Pearl is sent by her family to high school to collect some fresh blood for an upcoming feast. But Pearl starts to feel conflicted about this plan, not wanting to send her new friends to their graves. But can she face the wrath of her family if she doesn’t deliver?

The film is also set to star Greg Sulkin (Faking It), Zach Peladeau (iZombie), Sarah Desjardins (Van Helsing), McKaley Miller (Hart of Dixie), Sky Sarin (Perfect High), and Angelique Rivera (American Crime).

As filming has already begun on this project, we can expect to see it on Lifetime in early 2017. Though teen-vampire films are everywhere these days, I am very intrigued by this story, and I can’t wait to see what twists Drink, Slay, Love will bring to the world of supernatural YA.
