These beautiful new STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI stills show off new ships, characters, and more!
Entertainment Weekly has released a huge batch of exclusive images from Star Wars: The Last Jedi featuring all sorts of new characters and scenery. For example, we see the casino from Canto Bight. Did this take anyone else back to Cloud City?!
One of the photos displays the beloved Chewbacca with the puffin-inspired creatures called Porgs. Director Rian Johnson discussed his inspiration with EW as well:
“If you go to Skellig at the right time of year, it’s just covered in puffins, and they’re the most adorable things in the world,” Johnson tells EW. “So when I was first scouting there, I saw these guys, and I was like, oh, these are part of the island. And so the Porgs are in that realm.”
Nearby to the Porgs are the Caretakers, who also inhabitate the first Jedi temple and can communicate with Luke. Johnson calls them “fish-bird type aliens.” How would you describe them?
Check out the gallery of EW’s photos below for some Rey, Luke, Finn, Poe, Kylo Ren, and even Carrie Fisher as Leia taking direction behind the scenes!
Star Wars flies into theaters on December 15.
