20th Century Fox Moves Up THE DARKEST MINDS Release Date

A new release date means THE DARKEST MINDS will compete in the late summer box office!

The movie adaptation of Alexandra Bracken‘s hit YA novel The Darkest Minds is heading to theaters in time for a prime summer spot, thanks to a recent release date switch-up at 20th Century Fox!

The story follows Ruby (Amandla Stenberg,) one of the few children who survived a devastating plague only to develop superpowers in the aftermath. Ruby has been hiding the extent of her power while in a gruesome government “rehabilitation camp”, but after a bloody escape with three others, she realizes just who many people want to use her and how few people she can trust.

Originally scheduled for a September 14, 2018 release, the film has been moved to August 3, 2018, according to Deadline. It will go up against Disney’s yet-to-be-titled Christopher Robbin movie, The Spy Who Dumped Me, and The Equalizer 2.

Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any trailers or official promotion quite yet, but we’re on the lookout!
