TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN gets optioned for film with the same studio that was behind The Fault in Our Stars.
Another John Green novel has been optioned for film, with the familiar movie studio that put out the majorly successful The Fault in Our Stars as well as Paper Towns, both based on books written by Green. This time the recently released Turtles All the Way Down is what Fox is hoping to turn into another successful teen film, closer to the popularity of TFIOS than of Paper Towns.
Turtles All the Way Down tells of a girl with OCD who, with the help of her friend Daisy, hopes to solve the mystery of a fugitive billionaire in order to win the $100,000 reward that’s at stake.
The book was only just released in October of this year, with it garnering a 4.19 (out of 5) star-rating and over 43,000 ratings from readers.
Temple Hill Entertainment, which has a keen eye for YA based movies like TFIOS, the Twilight Saga, the continuing Maze Runner series, as well as upcoming films The Hate U Give and Love, Simon, will be producing the movie.
“So now’s the time to begin inundating me with casting suggestions.”
Green had said the above regarding the book being optioned, though it’s more than likely he said it in jest as he likely won’t have any say in who will be cast in the movie: Hint: Don’t send casting suggestions to John.
