TheFandom’s Favorite Panels from Comic-Con 2015

Two of TheFandom’s staff, including myself, got a chance to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and we took in as much as we could to share with you all. Unfortunately, we didn’t cover much as compared to the amount of awesome content that was contained in the downtown San Diego area.  What we could cover only gives you a glimpse of all that happened in the 4-day event.  Here’s our top five favorite panels from this year’s Comic-Con International (not including most of the off-site panels):

Favorite Panel #5

The Originals – The Originals panel featured Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Leah Pipes, Danielle Campbell, Yusuf Gatewood, Julie Plec, and Michael Narducci. A video was shown showcasing the highlights of the series so far, but ended with a new scene teasing what the Mikaelson family will be facing next season.

Book to Screen – This was actually a really cool panel, especially if you’re into sci-fi novels, as authors James S.A. Corey (The Expanse series, now to be a TV series on SyFy) and Andy Weir (The Martian, now a feature film) were in attendance, with Ernest Cline (Ready Player One, to be a feature film) moderating.  Other authors that were there were Melissa de la Cruz (The Descendents series, to be a TV series on ABC Family), Christina Lauren (Beautiful Bastard series, to be a feature film), and Lev Grossman (The Magicians series, to be a TV series on SyFy).  They basically talked about the process of bringing their books to, duh, screen, and the challenges for a writer during said process, including the amount of their involvement.
