The Cursed Child Twitter account recently released a first look at the Potter family from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the official eighth story coming to us soon in play form.
Set after the epilogue at the end of Deathly Hallows and during Harry and Ginny’s children’s years at Hogwarts, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is already set to be a fascinating and entertaining story. However, now, looking at the first officially released pictures, we’re even more excited for this play, if that was even possible.
The pictures show a Potter family portrait, Jamie Parker as Harry Potter, Poppy Miller as Ginny Weasley, and Sam Clemmett as Albus Severus.
Albus’ Hogwarts robes look spectacular and are extraordinarily true to the books, while Harry and Ginny look very much what we pictured an older Harry and Ginny to look like.

MuggleNet.com reports that J.K. Rowling has said that Parker “simply is Harry now,” Miller is “exactly as [she] imagined [Ginny],” and, about Clemmett, that “we [casting directors and Rowling] couldn’t have cast better.”
Suffice to say, we’re very impressed with this first look.
If the story shapes up to be half as good as some of our main characters look in these pictures, we’ll be pretty happy with The Cursed Child.
Official synopsis from Pottermore:
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
