After over 50 years without change, Birkham Books has announced the release of a new edition of Quidditch Through the Ages, with the original version incorporated into the new. The original author of the book, Kennilworthy Whisp, passed away three years ago, leaving the task of updating the book to be undertaken by his son, William. Birkham, which bought out the book’s original publisher, Whizz Hard Books, has stated the company’s enthusiasm to be involved with a work that has already been so renowned and revolutionary in the area of athletic history: “We are all glad that this decision was made and that we are going to be a part of it.”

“It’s honestly about time that we had a new edition of the book,” said Angelina Johnson, former Chaser for the Appleby Arrows and current host of “Though the Hoop,” a popular show on the Wizarding Wireless Network. “I appreciate [Birkham] finally acknowledging how much the sport has changed since the Second Wizarding War. Sports have taken a much more serious turn, with many more people becoming involved in the sport either as fans or as people in the industry. I hope that I personally get into this edition, but you never know.” With this, Johnson gave a knowing wink before ending the interview.

Birkham has invested 100,000 Galleons to take himself, the author, and his team around the world to gather the research needed for this new edition. “I am honored that I can follow in my late father’s footsteps and improve his work,” said William Whisp. “Quidditch Through the Ages is something I grew up with. My dad finished the book when I was just a lad, and I can only hope that I can leave a similar legacy for my own son. Quidditch has always been a passion of mine, passed down from my father, and I am so ecstatic that my team and I will be able to give something to the legacy that is Quidditch.”
