The Fandom’s 6th Anniversary Day 7 – Mythical Fantasy ARC Prize Pack

Celebrate our anniversary with a whole week’s worth of amazing giveaways!

Tuesday was The Fandom’s sixth anniversary! Can you believe we’ve been dishing out fandom news and feels for SIX YEARS now?!

It all started with THE POTTER GAMES, a Harry Potter / Hunger Games Choose Your Own Adventure created by 40+ fans launched in July 2011. THE HOGWARTS GAMES— a mash-up of the same fandoms in the other direction– was quick to follow. We had some much fun with all that chaos, but we also knew there were so many other fandoms we loved; fandoms we wanted to share news about and discuss in earnest.

Like a baby phoenix rising from the ashes, The Fandom was born on December 26, 2011!

Things looked a lot different back then, and the range and depth of the fandoms we cover has expanded massively, too. We’ve always been thrilled with our geektastic corner of the Internet, its passionate writers, and the amazing opportunities we’ve had.

Of course, we owe much of this to YOU, the readers, so we’re saying thank you with a week’s worth of giveaways! Every day, we’ll have a new great prize to win and yes, it’s open internationally! Here’s what you can win today:

DAY 7 – Incredible 2018 fantasies involving entrancing mythical beings!

Be sure to check back every day between now and January 2nd for more opportunities to win great prizes!

  1. Ooh, I get to tell more of my favorites! Let’s see. The Lynburn Legacy series by Sarah Rees Brennan, Marissa Meyer’s Lunar Chronicles, the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini, A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty, Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge

  2. I recently just finished the Shades of Magic series and it was breathtaking. It has to be one of my favourite fantasy reads because of the way relationships are established and progress. I think pacing has always been a bit awkward, slow build at the beginning of each book to world build and set the scene with approximately 1/3 of the book left for the main plot and climax. This aside, this series has a really compelling story and unique cast of characters. I think my favourite of the series is ‘a Gathering of Shadows’ because it was the one I learned to appreciate Lila more and come to love the characters. Thanks for the giveaway!

  3. I have a lot of favorite fantasy reads, but the best ones in my opinion are the shadowhunter chronicles and the conquerors saga!

  4. Isobel Telford on

I have way too many favourites, but I absolutely loved the Inkheart trilogy, the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus, Hunger Games and Triskellion series’. And the Mortal Instruments!

  5. Fantasy is one of my fave genres! So many good books out there! My particular favorite is Jay Kristoff’s Nevernight series. Really anything with magic, dragons, and strong/intelligent female characters!

  6. Favorite fantasy reads include Archer’s Goon by Diana Wynne Jones, The Curse of Chalion trilogy by Lois McMaster Bujold and Seraphina by Rachel Hartman.

  7. “Name some of your favorite fantasy reads!” I enjoyed Lloyd Alexander years ago! I should re-read him some day!

  8. A few…. Strange the Dreamer, the Court of Fives series, Shadow Weaver, The Falcon Trilogy and these are just a few of my favorites!

  9. I have too many “favorite fantasy reads” to name, but I just finished “The Rose and the Dagger” by Renee Ahdieh and am currently reading the “Rebel of the Sands” series by Alwyn Hamilton and they’re both fantastic.
