See The Creepy Cover For Stephanie Perkins’ THERE’S SOMEONE INSIDE YOUR HOUSE

Stephanie Perkins’ upcoming teen horror novel gets an eerie neon glow!

Stephanie Perkins is best known for her adorable contemporary YA romances in the Anna and the French Kiss series, but her next novel is going to kill it. Literally.

The bestselling author returns this fall with There’s Someone Inside Your House, a murderous horror novel that’s sure to shake things up. Now, Entertainment Weekly has a look at the cover and how it was created!

Believe it or not, this cover isn’t a digital design. Penguin Teen cover designer Lindsay Andrews worked with designer Sean Freeman, who most famously created the cover design for Stephen King‘s Doctor Sleep, to create the image in real life.

“We tossed ideas around: pools of dripping blood, unsettling mutated type, type made of shadows until we finally landed on the idea of playing with light and dark through projections,” Andrews said. Ultimately, they created mock stairs and played with different fonts and angles to get that disturbing vibe just right.

Does that pink projection remind you a bit of previous Stephanie Perkins books? Andrews says that’s not an accident!

“I wanted to make sure we created something bold and eye-catching that would immediately show her audience that this is something new and yet you’ll still get the Stephanie Perkins you know and love. It’s no coincidence that this cover gives a friendly little nod to Anna and the French Kiss. I hope it brings in some new horror fans as well!”

There’s Someone Inside Your House
